One of my first piece of work

One of my first ever SFX makeup was this 'Masquerade Flesh Mask', I originally got the idea from Bonnie Carbon SFX, I will leave her video linked down below.

So, I had created this makeup for my Art O-level project, It was my final piece. My art project title was Masks, and during the summer I had seen Bonnie Carbon's video and thought that this piece would be perfect for my project!

I must admit, I let people's comments get in the way before I did, as some didn't believe in me and said that I would not have an outcome like this. It came to a point where I just wanted to prove them wrong, and so I did. With the help of a great friend of mine, one of the best makeup artists here, I was able to present this to everyone. I admit, there are a couple of things that I do not like about the outcome of this look, but still I am pretty proud of what I created. 

I must say, part of being an artist is being able to critic your own work. Point out where you could have done better and what went wrong. It can get difficult at times, as I tend to bring myself down about most things, but hearing and reading what people have to say about my work makes me realize that even though I may not be the best, I have the potential to continue on this colorful journey.

The point here is, in anything you do, you need to be able to critic your own work but not destroy yourself with your own criticism. After all, we learn from our mistakes, and no one was born perfect. Mistakes are what make us. In anything you do, you should never let anyone tell you that you are not talented, or capable of doing what you want to do.  Every one has their own talents, you just need to believe in yourself.
