Review ~ NYX All Over Balm

Another purchase I recently made was this "all over balm" from NYX. They have three different types, there's the "Argon Oil" one, the "Macadamia Nut oil", and the "Coconut Oil" one. There were such good reviews about this product on their page, but I do not quite agree with these reviews.

To start of, I bought this for 8.99 euros. The packaging is really pretty. I honestly thought before purchasing this that they would have a strong scent. Since when I purchased this I had a blocked nose and couldn't quite smell properly, I asked my friend who was with me the check which was the one with the better smell as I could barely smell it. In fact, it wasn't my blocked nose, but the product itself. They have a really faint smell. Which is a plus for people who are bothered by scents easily. This was a bit of a turn off for me as I think any product should have a bit of a scent to them, especially these balms with such oils. I choose the one which had the most smell, which was the "Coconut Oil" All over body balm.

When I opened the tin, I found a plastic layer protecting the balm, which honestly, I do not get why! Anyways, when I went to remove the plastic layer, the plastic plate pushed itself down into the balm itself. Making me take a while to take it out and getting the balm under my fingernails (I also had to use a ruler to pull the plastic back up and out).

So I put this on my lips as I have quite dry and chappy lips right now. It did make my lips feel a bit softer then they were. I also put this on overnight on my brow-bone, my lips and my hands. I am not a person with dry skin but with the cold I've been having a bit of dry skin.To my surprise. When I woke up I found that my hands and brow-bone were really dry and almost felt a bit flaky.

Since this is a skin product, I did the contrary and decided to test it out on the tips of my hair, and to my surprise it actually made my tips feel a bit softer. So, this body balm, is drying on the skin, but worked well on my hair. This I do not get.

I am not so pleased with this product, especially for the price of this tiny tin. If you add another 2 euros to the paying price, you can easily buy a jar of virgin coconut oil or some sort of oil and get a big jar which you can actually use for hair, body and also to cook with.

So therefore, I recommend for those searching for a good balm for their dry skin etc. to go buy a jar of coconut oil (or any other oil) for the return of, soft skin, healthy hair, healthy food and a cheaper product.

I rate this product 1/5 yellow hearts.

For those who want to try this out themselves, you can purchase this product from here;
